Abstract

The practical use of plastic has caused waste to increase, so recycling methods are needed to reduce garbage. This study utilizes waste from 1.5-liter Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polypropylene (PP) plastic bottles as raw materials for making 3D printer filament as a substitute for Polylactic Acid (PLA), which is difficult to obtain and relatively expensive in Tegal. The filament machine is controlled using an Arduino Uno to regulate the heating temperature and filament winding speed. The research method used is experimental with temperature variations to obtain filament with a uniform diameter, smooth texture, and clear color. Test results showed that the best temperature for PET is 200°C, while PP is 130°C because it produces the most even texture and clear color. The manufacturing process includes cutting the bottles, measuring the thickness and width of the pieces, up to forming the ready-to-use filament
