Reducing dependence on fossil fuels is crucial, and alternative energy is a solution. One renewable energy source with a positive impact is biomass briquettes. However, manual briquette production is labor-intensive and time-consuming, resulting in low production efficiency. Therefore, this research aimed to design and build a semi-automatic briquette printing machine on a household scale. The objective was to design an efficient tool for briquette printing and increase production. The research methods used included conceptual design, mechanical component and transmission system selection, frame and mold construction, and machine performance testing. Testing was conducted three times to determine production capacity and ensure uniform briquette shape, size, and density. This machine uses a belt-pulley transmission system driven by an electric motor with semi-automatic operation via a mechanical lever. Test results show that the machine can operate stably and in a shorter timeframe than manual molding. The resulting briquettes have good density and compactness, making them suitable for use as fuel. This semi-automatic briquette machine is expected to be used on a household scale as an efficient solution for converting biomass waste into a renewable energy source.
